- TrackPoint product: AI presentation practice
The Hill Levene School of Business at the University of Regina uses TrackPoint to give business communication students a way to rehearse presentations and get detailed feedback before they present for a grade. Students practice on their own schedule, as often as they need, and receive feedback on both what they say and how they say it.
The challenge
Presentation skills are built through repetition. Students improve when they can deliver a talk, hear what worked and what didn’t, and try again. In most communication courses, that cycle happens once: a student presents for a grade and receives feedback afterward.
The constraint is time. An instructor can teach structure, delivery and audience awareness to an entire section at once, but cannot watch every student rehearse every presentation. Students were largely left to practice alone, without feedback, before the presentation that counted.
The school wanted to give students more practice with useful feedback, without adding to instructor workload and without changing how the course was taught or graded.
The solution
The course adopted TrackPoint’s AI presentation practice. Students record or upload a presentation, attach their slide deck, and receive detailed feedback.

Feedback covers two areas:
- Content: the structure and flow of the talk, how persuasive it is, the strength of the closing, and whether what the student says matches their slides.
- Delivery: pace, filler words, tone and body language.
After the presentation, an AI audience runs a mock Q&A, asking the kinds of questions a real audience would. Students can then revise their talk and practice again immediately, with no need to book a room or find an audience.
The instructor continued to teach the course and assess final presentations. TrackPoint handled the repetition that a single instructor can’t provide for every student.
Getting started
The school started with a single course rather than a campus-wide rollout. Students used TrackPoint alongside the assignments they were already preparing, so there was no new routine to learn and no change to course structure.
Results
Students gained a way to rehearse with feedback before every graded presentation, at any time of day. The course’s instructor described the experience this way:
TrackPoint worked very well for my teaching application.

Why it matters beyond the classroom
The gap the University of Regina addressed is common outside universities too. New managers preparing a first team update, sales reps rehearsing a pitch, and team leads presenting a policy change all face the same problem: plenty of material and very little practice with feedback. TrackPoint’s presentation practice gives each of them a place to rehearse first. Universities can learn more on our education page.
Frequently asked questions
How does the University of Regina use TrackPoint?
The Hill Levene School of Business uses TrackPoint for presentation practice in business communication. Students rehearse presentations and receive AI feedback on their content and delivery before presenting for a grade.
What does AI presentation practice give feedback on?
Both content and delivery. On content, TrackPoint reviews the structure and flow of the talk, how persuasive it is, how it closes, and whether it matches the slides. On delivery, it covers pace, filler words, tone and body language. It can also run a mock Q&A.
Does AI presentation practice replace instructor feedback?
No. It gives students more practice before they present, while instructors continue to teach and grade. Students arrive at their graded presentation having already worked through the common problems.
Can a single course use TrackPoint without a campus-wide rollout?
Yes. A single course or department can start on its own, which is how the University of Regina began.
Is AI presentation practice only for students?
No. Companies use the same practice for new managers, sales pitches, customer presentations and onboarding. See presentation practice for details.
