By Jay ShahQuick answer:
- The best AI call scoring software for most sales teams of 3 to 100 reps is TrackPoint. It records every call, scores it on your sales scorecard, emails the recap, and turns the weak moments into AI roleplay practice automatically.
- If you run a large revenue org and want call scoring next to forecasting and deal intelligence, look at Gong.
- If you want call scoring at a price you can see on the website, look at Avoma or Fathom.
A sales manager with 8 reps on the phone all week might hear four or five of those calls in full. The rest get judged by gut feel and whatever the rep says in the 1:1. AI call scoring closes that gap by grading every conversation against one standard, so nobody has to press play to know how it went. We compared seven tools that do it, and put ours first.
The shortlist
| Tool | Best for | Scores every call | What happens after a low score | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TrackPoint | Teams that want calls scored and reps trained on what’s found | Yes, on your sales scorecard | Weak moments become AI roleplays, assigned automatically | On our pricing page |
| Gong | Large revenue orgs that also want deal intelligence | Yes, scorecards and an AI Call Reviewer | Managers review and coach | Not published; Vendr median about $55,359 a year |
| Avoma | Conversation intelligence at a published price | With the Conversation Intelligence add-on | Coaching recommendations | $19 per seat per month (annual), plus add-on |
| Fathom | Small teams that want notes first, scoring second | AI scorecards on Business | Coaching metrics | Business $25 per user per month (annual) |
| Hyperbound | SDR teams that already record calls in Gong | On the Perform plan | Roleplays recommended from calls | By quote |
| Outdoo | Teams that want roleplay and real-call scoring in one quote-based plan | On the Growth plan | Real calls can be turned into roleplays | By quote, annual contracts |
| Mindtickle | Enterprise enablement teams | With Call AI | Personalized role plays | Not published; Vendr median about $44,356 a year |
Figures come from vendor pricing pages or Vendr as of October 2026. Call scoring add-ons get repriced often, so ask for a current quote.
What should AI call scoring actually score?
Good call scoring checks whether the rep did the things that move a deal forward, not just how much they talked. If a tool can’t score these five, it’s giving you trivia, not coaching.
- Discovery questions. Did the rep ask open questions about the buyer’s situation, or jump straight to the pitch?
- Pain and impact. Did they find the real problem and put a number or consequence on it?
- Objection handling. When the buyer pushed back on price, timing or a competitor, did the rep acknowledge it, ask a question and respond, or just discount?
- Next step booked. Did the call end with a specific next step, with a date, that the buyer agreed to?
- Talk-listen balance. Did the buyer get room to talk, especially in discovery?
The best tools let you score against your own scorecard, not a generic one. If you don’t have one yet, start with our free sales call scorecard template, which has discovery and demo versions scored out of 100.
How we picked these tools
We scored the scoring tools from the seat of a front-line manager who has to act on the results. These four questions mattered most:
- Does it score every call against criteria you control? A score only helps if it measures what good looks like on your team.
- What happens after a low score? A number in a dashboard is the start, not the finish.
- Can you see a price before a sales call? A small team shouldn’t sit through three demos to find out if something is in budget.
- Can you start this week? No seat minimums, no rollout project.
1. TrackPoint: best AI call scoring software for small sales teams
Most tools on this list stop at the score. TrackPoint treats the score as the start: each low criterion becomes the next thing that rep practices, so the number on Monday’s dashboard is something reps can actually move.
Calls come in two ways: a notetaker that reps’ Google or Outlook calendars send into Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, or recordings you upload. Each one is graded on the criteria in your scorecard, from discovery to next steps, with delivery (pace, filler words, tone) scored too. Attendees get a summary and next steps by email; the rep gets the breakdown behind the score.
Say it’s Friday and the team view shows a pattern: the whole team averages low on “next step booked.” Calls end with “I’ll send some info over” and no date. In most tools, the manager now has to plan Monday’s fix. In TrackPoint, each rep who missed it already has a roleplay with a buyer who tries to end the call vaguely, and the rep has to land a dated next step to pass. By the following Friday, the manager can check whether the average moved on real calls.
For important meetings, a Practice button on the calendar entry lets the rep warm up against a buyer modeled on that prospect’s company first. The full product walkthrough is in our TrackPoint Calls overview.
- Best for: managers of 3 to 100 reps who want low scores to turn into practice without building it themselves.
- Pricing: published on our pricing page; a free roleplay needs no signup.
- Data: stored in the US, Canada or Europe, and never used to train AI models.
2. Gong: best for large revenue orgs that want deal intelligence too
Gong is a revenue intelligence platform built around recording and analyzing every customer conversation. It scores calls with scorecards and an automatic AI Call Reviewer, and it pulls signals like objections and competitor mentions across every call in a deal.
Gong doesn’t publish pricing. It charges per user plus a platform fee, and Vendr reports a median contract of about $55,359 a year, with a typical minimum of 10 to 15 seats.
- Best for: large revenue orgs that want call scoring alongside forecasting and deal intelligence.
- Good to know: turning low scores into better calls is still mostly a manager’s job. For smaller teams, see our list of Gong alternatives.
3. Avoma: best for call scoring with prices on the website
Avoma is an AI meeting assistant with conversation intelligence for sales teams, and you can read its prices without booking a demo. The entry Startup plan is $19 per seat per month on annual billing.
AI call scoring, coaching scorecards and AI coaching recommendations come in a Conversation Intelligence add-on at $29 per seat per month billed annually, so budget for the plan plus the add-on. There’s a 14-day free trial.
- Best for: teams that want Gong-style call scoring at a price they can see.
- Good to know: Avoma doesn’t list AI roleplay, so practice after a low score still happens with a manager.
4. Fathom: best for teams that want notes first
Fathom is an AI notetaker with a free plan for unlimited recordings and call summaries. Its Business plan, listed at $25 per user per month billed annually ($34 monthly) with a 2-user minimum, adds AI scorecards, coaching metrics and a deal view.
- Best for: small teams that mainly want clean call notes, with some scoring on top.
- Good to know: the scorecards show managers where a call went wrong; turning that into a rehearsal is left to you. For more notetakers built for sales, see our list of the best AI notetakers for sales.
5. Hyperbound: best for SDR teams that already use Gong
Hyperbound is an AI sales roleplay platform with real call scoring on its Perform plan. Perform scores calls with custom AI scorecards, adds call summaries and deal-level coaching, and recommends roleplays from what it finds.
Perform brings in real calls through integrations with recorders and dialers like Gong, Zoom and Orum. Both paid plans are priced through a demo, and Vendr shows a median Hyperbound contract of about $12,000 a year.
- Best for: SDR teams that already record calls in Gong and want scoring and practice on top.
- Good to know: the full loop needs the Perform plan and usually a call recorder underneath. See our list of Hyperbound alternatives.
6. Outdoo: best for roleplay plus scoring across many recording tools
Outdoo pairs AI roleplay with real-call scoring on one plan ladder. It scores calls on behaviors like discovery depth, objection handling, talk-to-listen ratio and methodology adherence, and real calls can be turned into roleplays.
Real-call scoring through its 55+ call recording integrations sits on the Growth plan, which is priced by quote, and Outdoo says annual contracts are standard.
- Best for: larger teams that want to buy practice and call intelligence separately.
- Good to know: anything past the free plan is a custom quote by team size. See TrackPoint vs. Outdoo.
7. Mindtickle: best for enterprise enablement teams
Mindtickle is a revenue enablement suite. Its Call AI records and transcribes sales conversations and scores calls on behaviors like talk time, pace and questions asked, and its role plays can draw on signals from those calls.
Mindtickle doesn’t publish pricing. Vendr reports a median contract of about $44,356 a year and lists Call AI as an add-on to the core platform.
- Best for: large orgs with an enablement team to run it.
- Good to know: it’s a suite with a rollout, not something a 10-rep team turns on this week. See TrackPoint vs. Mindtickle.
Scoring is only half the job
A call score tells you a rep missed the objection. It doesn’t stop them from missing it again on Thursday. That part takes practice.
Picture it from the manager’s side. The dashboard shows Marcus scored in the 50s on his last three demos, every time for the same reason: he never asks about budget. Most call scoring tools stop there, and the manager has to find 30 minutes to roleplay the moment with him, which usually doesn’t happen. The scores pile up and nothing changes.
So when you compare call scoring software, ask what happens after a low score:
- Nothing: the score sits in a dashboard until a manager has time.
- A recommendation: the tool suggests what to work on, and someone still has to set up the practice.
- Practice, automatically: the weak moment becomes a roleplay the rep gets right away, with a passing score.
Only the last one changes what the rep does on the next call without adding to the manager’s week. Our guide on how to coach sales reps without listening to every call walks through the routine.
Which AI call scoring software should you pick?
Pick based on what you need to happen after the score.
- You want every call scored and reps trained on what’s found: TrackPoint.
- You need call scoring plus forecasting across a big revenue org: Gong.
- You want conversation intelligence at a published price: Avoma.
- You mainly want call notes, with scoring on top: Fathom.
- You already use Gong and want scoring and practice for SDRs: Hyperbound.
- You want roleplay plus call scoring across many recording tools: Outdoo.
- You run an enterprise enablement program: Mindtickle.
Frequently asked questions
What is AI call scoring?
AI call scoring is software that listens to recorded sales calls and grades them against a scorecard, like whether the rep asked discovery questions, handled objections and booked a next step. It lets managers see how every call went without listening to each one.
What is the best AI call scoring software?
For sales teams of 3 to 100 reps, TrackPoint is the best AI call scoring software because it scores every call and then turns the weak moments into AI roleplay practice automatically. Gong is the stronger fit for large revenue orgs that also want forecasting and deal intelligence.
How does automated call scoring work?
A notetaker or integration records the call, the transcript is analyzed against your scorecard, and each criterion gets a score with the moments that drove it. With TrackPoint, the notetaker joins your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams calls from your calendar, and you can also upload recordings.
Is AI call scoring accurate?
It’s accurate enough to spot patterns, like a rep who never asks about budget, and to flag the calls worth a manager’s attention. It can miss nuance on a single call, so the best use is trends across many calls plus a quick check on the flagged moments.
How much does call scoring software cost?
It varies a lot. Avoma and Fathom publish prices, from about $25 to $48 per seat per month once scoring is included. Gong, Hyperbound, Outdoo and Mindtickle are priced by quote; Vendr reports median contracts of about $55,359 a year for Gong and $44,356 for Mindtickle. TrackPoint’s pricing is on our pricing page.
What criteria should a call scorecard include?
Discovery questions, finding the pain and its impact, objection handling, a booked next step and talk-listen balance. Our free sales call scorecard template has discovery and demo versions you can copy.
Does TrackPoint use our calls to train AI models?
No. TrackPoint never uses customer data, including recordings and transcripts, to train its own or anyone else’s AI models, and you choose whether your data lives in the United States, Canada or Europe. See our security page.
So, which call scoring tool is right for you?
If you only need a number on every call, most of these tools will do. If you need your reps to get better because of that number, and your managers can’t coach every call, that’s what we built TrackPoint for.
